Ethnobotanical Uses (Disclaimer)
Traditionally used as a medicinal narcotic and for ailments such as bronchitis and sore eyes, it is primarily only used by homeopaths today. It was also used in now obsolete treatments of syphilis to counteract the side-effects of mercury inunctions.
