Origin:  Native to Japan and Central China. Acer maximowiczianum was named after Carl Johann Maximowicz, a 19th century Russian botanist and director of the Saint Petersburg Botanical Garden (also known as Komarov Botanical Garden), the oldest botanical garden in Russia.

Providing beautiful autumn colours and soft grey bark, this maple is a stunning addition to any landscape. This species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as least concern.
