General Description
The largest of the lily species. An enormous plant, with its large, fragrant trumpet shaped flowers and heart shaped leaves, is a sight to behold. First discovered by Nathaniel Wallich in 1850.
Landscape
A spectacular focal point in lightly shaded exotic gardens and woodland borders.
Cultivation
It is very sensitive to hot, dry conditions, preferring moist, humus-rich conditions and partial shade to thrive. For a patient gardener since the first bloom does not appear for about 6 years.
