General Description
This species has been placed on the IUCN Red List as globally threatened.
Cultivation
Well drained soil in partial shade.
Pests
Coral spot, grey mould, honey fungus and fungal leaf spot.
Habitat
Forest edges and in scrub in Tianquan, Lushan and Wenchuan.
Bark/Stem Description
Light brown in colour.
Leaf Description
Elliptic to obovate, large, with a rounded base and shiny, 21 x 13 cm.
Flower Description
Cup shaped white flowers with crimson stamens, fragrant with a pretty lemon-scent, 12.5 cm in diameter.
Fruit Description
Long pendant, pale pink in its youth maturing to a brown as it ages, 7.5 cm in length.
