General Description
This plant is perennial, rhizomatous, and grass-like.

Cultivation
Full sun and partial-shade. Moist and well-drained soils. Prefers sandy, loamy, sandy loam and clay soils with acid, neutral and alkaline pH. Tolerates light frost.

Habitat
Found growing in a variety of situations including sand, loam, clay, gravel, limestone, laterite. In winter it may be found in wet areas including swamp margins, drainage areas, ditches and sand dunes.
