Abelia 'Edward Goucher' is a deciduous or evergreen shrub, with paired or whorled leaves with axillary clusters of funnel/trumpet-shaped flowers in summer and autumn. Can sometimes be seen with conspicuous colourful calyx.

Cultivation
Easy to grow in most conditions although not fully hardy; requires a sunny, sheltered position. Can grow in sand, chalk and loam if moist and well-drained with a pH of acid, alkaline and neutral. Abelia 'Edward Goucher' is a well-proven resilient plant.
Shape
For a plant to reach ultimate size it could take 10 - 20 years.
