| 4-6 thick, tough leaves with rough surfaces and margins are produced, spreading flat on the surface, usually present during or after flowering. |
| Flower Description |
| It may take up to eight years for a plant to flower from seed. The inflorescence consists of up to 75 flowers, individually stalked, forming a large pink coloured umbel. When ripe the dried, brown bloom detaches and may be blown across the veld. |
