Flowering Period
General Description
The narrow leaflets and smooth petioles separate this species from similar species in the genus.
Cultivation
Grows in partial to full shade. It grows best in moist to well-drained soil but is tolerant of some drought.

A small Cycad, with a round trunk, and leaves to about 150 cm long. New leaves emerge bronze. It has smooth petioles, and very narrow leaflets.
Habitat
Pine-oak dominated cloud forests on steep slopes in deep soil mixed with limestone rocks.

Leaves have spines or sharp edges, dark green, semigloss, 80-150 cm long, flat (not keeled) in section, with 60-100 leaflets.

Pollen cones brown, narrowly ovoid-cylindrical to fusiform-cylindrical, 9-15 cm long, 2.5-3 cm diameter.
Fruit Description
Seed cones green, ovoid-cylindrical, 13.5-19.5 cm long, 6.5-8 cm diameter. Seed is poisonous if ingested.
