Flowering Period
General Description
Formerly known as Erythea brandegeei.
Landscape
Vertical accent, or in an oasis landscaped designed theme.
Cultivation
Grow in a range of soil types, in partial shade or full sun.
ID Characteristic
Slow growth rate over time rarely growing to 30 metres, it's ultimately the tallest of the Brahea palms.
Bark/Stem Description
Corky, rough rings, slender, grey, with solitary stems.
Leaf Description
Palmately compound frond, green above, glaucous below on slender, armed petioles, with a medium coarse texture.
Flower Description
Unusually hermaphroditic, flower stalks arising from amongst the leaves, but shorter than the leaves.
Fruit Description
Fruit is shiny, dark brown and round when ripe, 1.5 to 2 cm in diameter.
Texture Description
Slow growth rate over time rarely growing to 30 m (but that'll take more than a lifetime), it's ultimately the tallest of the Brahea palms.
