Bark/Stem Description |
The lower part of the tree is covered with triangular spines that store water. When young, the bark is green and as it ages it turns grey and drops the spines. |

The pale green leaves are 10-12 cm long with serrated margins and are alternately arranged. |
Flower Description |
The 5-petaled flower is 8-10 cm long and funnel shaped. Colour varies from pale pink, rose, purple to burgundy. |
