Description and Growing Information

Cultivation
Best grown in moist, organically rich, well-drained loams in full sun to part shade.
Shape
Upright.

Potential insects include horse chestnut scale, snails or capsid bug. Potential diseases include coral spot, grey mould, honey fungus, iron deficiency and lime-induced chlorosis.
Leaf Description
The leaves are linear shaped with an entire margin and are a light green in colour, 5-10 cm long.
Flower Description
Dark purple in bud and lighter in colour when open. They have 12 tepals. The outer 4 hang over and are red purple, the inner 8 are white
Fruit Description
Red seeds form in pods to 10 cm long.
